#1 Job Title: Marketing and Business Development Officer

Job Summary

Facilitate the realisation of VTL’s strategic objectives by identifying and defining potential new customers, markets, products and services and positioning for VTL to be able to capture potential customers, thus maximising the Company’s business and revenue generation potentials.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
  • First degree in Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • A post graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA).
  • Three (3) years relevant experience in Marketing, Business Development or strategy in a reputable organisation.
  • Experience in a tech start-up company will be an added advantage.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Duties
  • Develop short and medium term strategies aimed at maximising VTL’s strengths and managing its weaknesses with a view to expanding VTL’s business.
  • Prepare and implement the department’s annual budget.
Routine Duties
  • Continually identify new business opportunities and develop ways to ensure revenue growth within existing/ defined markets.
  • Coordinate marketing surveys aimed at identifying business opportunities and ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of marketing activities.
  • Conduct periodic customer satisfaction surveys for VTL clients/customers to understand areas for improvement in current business and areas to provide further value to the client’s business.
  • Monitor and keep abreast key developments and changes in the Nigerian tech. Industry and the implications for VTL’s business.
  • Gather data and information on competitor activities, initiatives and new developments and use information obtained to update/ refine VTL’s strategies and plans.
  • Develop new and existing business relationships.
  • Present VTL to potential clients through direct communication in face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails.
  • Plan and develop VTL’s marketing and communications material.
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals to existing/ potential clients.
  • Liaise with marketing and branding consultants and tech developers to develop, implement and monitor the delivery of all branding and marketing initiatives.
  • Generate monthly reports to management on major business development initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CTO.

  • Advanced knowledge of tech market/ industry analysis, practices, techniques/ methodologies and tools.

  • Ability to coordinate the pitch process by effectively providing a summary of the client’s technical and marketing needs in order to define relevant strategy recommendations.

#2 Job Title: Marketing and Sales Officer

Job Summary

To implement WNM sales strategy within the market segments and industry to ensure that targets and service levels are achieved. To coordinate and drive regional sales towards sales and promotion of VTL applications and solutions to corporate bodies, institutions and users in segmented market areas.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
  • First degree in Marketing or Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Three (3) years relevant experience in sales management.
  • Experience in sales /client account management and /or customer management experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Duties
  • Continuous liaison with internal and external stakeholders (Business Development, Key Project Managers, Corporate clients, etc) to ensure hitch-free sales operations.
  • Ensure effective management and delivery of corporate customers’ payment within market segment.
Routine Duties
  • Plan and implement VTL market segment sales strategy
    • Assist in developing segment-specific value propositions and differentiated corporate customer care.
    • Monitor and analyse sales trends to identify new prospects and sales opportunities for each market segments.
    • Conduct competitive research to find out competitors’ strategy for implementing corporate sales within the region and develop counter measures to increase sales.
    • Coordinate regional sales activities and ensure synergy with other activities within and outside the department.
  • Promote VTL brand visibility within the market segments.
    • Ensure distribution and effective usage of brand items and souvenirs to clients and customers.
    • Liaise with Marketing & Business Dev. to organise events and promotions towards improving awareness of the VTL brand of technology solutions and applications.
  • Manage VTL’s growth and profitability within the technology community within market segments or region.
    • Ensure targets of each segments are met.
    • Ensure clients receive necessary training required to maximize sales within the segments/regions.
    • Provide inputs into sales forecasting as regards reforecast and allocation.
    • Ensure optimum service levels is achieved and maintained.
  • Provide communication link between VTL and the retainerships in the market segments/regions.
  • Develop innovative solutions to peculiar customer problems.
  • Initiate new products to meet customer needs and increase revenue for VTL.
  • Continuous development of effective strategies to acquire new customers within the segments/regions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing and Business Development Officer.
